POLAROID PHOTOGRAPHER: HANNAH HUFFMAN
AND THE POLA INTERVIEWS Maintain!
I’ve saved some amazing people for this week and today is no exceptional with the lovely and talented Hannah Huffman. Hannah’s Spectra shots were some of the first I ever discovered on flickr. Hannah’s Polaroids are filled with headliner, love and things close to her heart. Her work is raw and sensible and full of life. Hannah has had gallery exhibitions, she shot the summer twine for fashion label, Wiksten, with some beautiful results and her toil was also featured in For the Love of Light. You can purchase some of her prints here.
Desirable to Paper Cameras, Hannah!

PC: Why Polaroid?
Hannah: Polaroid was definitely the camera of my young people. I have so many childhood memories captured on those squares that it didn’t take much for me to restate my attachment to them. It really is the perfect combination of magic, feeling and nearly instant gratification, and how could you not love the sound of all that whirring and spitting?

One of Hannah’s blood photographs from her childhood.
PC: Which Polaroid cameras do you use? Do you prefer some over others?
Hannah: I started with a Sun 600 catch camera and then fell in love with the Spectra because of Annie, it’s that big fair landscape of a rectangle that sold me. Iscoffed at 600. Who needed it? A twist of mine picked up a mint condition colorpack at an estate rummage sale and handed it right over to me. Brian gave me a die of film and a quick lesson and i’ve been dabbling with amassment film a bit, but then he loaned me and SX-70 and I fell hard for 600 again. I had to take back all the stinting things I said.
