As Seen Through Dramatic Binoculars
Clutching my x-ray, I clumsily hoof it my way to the door of a doctors office through the pouring rain. When I appear, I am met by a less than friendly receptionist who shows me into a modest exam allowance. I have been briefed by my dentist to expect the worst outcome of this office, and clutch the chair in nervousness awaiting this. An assistant walks in, throws my x-ray onto the effortless screen and gasps, "Oh wow, that looks bad". My heart rate speeds up. I look in the picture, my neck and chest has broken out into a pink rash. The connect with slaps on a blood pressure cuff. Instead of my customary 92/64 it has reached a height of 142/84. "You will purposes have permanent numbness and tingling in your face due to the fact that the roots of the teeth are opportunely on the facial nerve" he says nonchalantly. "In this process, you will very likely break your jaw, and there is a very high chance you will have sinus problems for the rest period of your life". If the teeth do not come out, he tells me the complications become worse. His grimace doesn't move an inch. He writes an order for a CT Scan. He pretends to comeback my questions by turning everything into a rationale for why he is the best man to do this. He hits me with statistic after statistic, nothing looks well-behaved.
I step back into the rain. I look at my reflection on my car window as the outpouring makes its way into my curls. Did he really...
